During my time as an AmeriCorps member at the Lincoln Arts Council I was tasked with creating a ‘public art inventory’. At the time I got involved with the project, it was still early in the planning stages, the project was a folder of images of some of the public art in Lincoln. With the intent to provide a functional and enjoyable resource to the community of Lincoln, I began designing a user-centered wordpress site that would feature Lincoln’s art. The Advanced Graphic Design Course of Spring 2014 was an in-depth experience discovering the relation between design and research, and design and information. Preparing our own individual research relating to food and water systems, particularly relating to Nebraska and California, as we were working collaboratively with students from SFSU.
